Air-Fried Tandoori Chicken Wings

Air-Fried Tandoori Chicken Wings

These Air-Fried Chicken Tandoori Wings are marinated in yogurt and spices then air-fried to crisp perfection. Makes a great game day or party food.

What is Tandoori?

A Tandoor is a clay oven used as a cooking method in Indian cuisine. Foods cooked in a Tandoor oven is known as Tandoori. The meats are marinated in spices and yogurt then grilled over charcoal in the Tandoor oven.

Since we don’t have a Tandoor oven, we are using the air-fried method. These can also be grilled or baked and is done when a meat thermometer reads 165 degrees Fahrenheit.

Notes:

In this Air-Fried Tandoori chicken recipe, I used chicken wing sections, the drumette and wingette. You can use any meats you’d like with this marinade just be sure to count the calories and smartpoints.

The turmeric, cayenne and paprika does give some color to this dish. However, to obtain a red or more yellow color you can use a couple drops of yellow and red food coloring in the marinade. If you prefer not to use food coloring it is completely fine, it does not affect the flavor of this chicken.

To get the most flavor I recommend marinating over night. The prep is quick and once done marinating it only takes 9-10 minutes in the air-fryer. I like to spray non-stick spray before placing in the air-fryer to help with sticking. Serve with 0 smart-points yogurt dip or your own favorite wing sauce.
