This viral TikTok Baked Feta Pasta is creamy, rich and tasty. I’ve added Italian Sausage to this recipe which takes it to another level.
This Baked Feta Pasta originated by blogger Jenni Häyrinen, went viral on TikTok with many modified versions. It was not my intention to jump on board but the more I viewed this easy to follow recipe the more I wanted to try it. When I finally decided to try it I could not find block feta anywhere! I opted for the crumbles but the outcome for me was not that great. Finally, found the blocks weeks after and decided to give it a shot.
I’ve added Italian Sausage for the extra flavor and to add some meat, decreased the amount of olive oil used and added Everything Italian seasoning as part of the seasonings. I found that the sausage along with the tomatoes released enough liquid to make this a sauce, but as this dish sits it can dry up so I kept some pasta water at the side if needed.
Ingredients
- Pasta of your choice
- Pasta water
- Block of Feta cheese
- Cherry or grape tomatoes
- Mild Italian sausage
- Garlic
- Olive oil
- Salt
- Black pepper
- Everything Italian Seasoning
- Basil- fresh or dried worked for me
- Brown sugar or honey- optional
Directions
Preheat Oven on 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
Easy TikTok Baked Feta Pasta with Italian Sausage
Easy Baked Feta Pasta recipe that is creamy and delicious.
Ingredients
- 8 oz. Pasta - dried
- 1 cup Pasta water
- 8 oz. Block of Feta cheese
- 2 pints Cherry or grape tomatoes
- 6 oz. Mild Italian sausage
- 2 cloves Garlic- minced
- 3 tbsp. Olive oil
- 1/4 Salt
- 1/4 -1/2 tsp Black pepper
- 1/2 tsp Everything Italian Seasoning
- 1/2 tsp Basil dried or couple leaves of fresh
- 1tsp Brown sugar or honey- optional
Directions
- Step 1 Preheat oven on 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Step 2 In a large baking dish, add block of feta in the middle. Add tomatoes around.
- Step 3 Season with salt, pepper, everything Italian Seasoning, basil and minced garlic. If using brown sugar or honey add in and stir.
- Step 4 Add broken up sausage pieces on top of tomatoes.
- Step 5 Pour olive oil over feta and sausage.
- Step 6 Bake for 35 minutes.
- Step 7 In the mean time, boil pasta until aldente and reserve 1 cup pasta water.
- Step 8 Once baked feta is done, poke tomatoes and mash along with the feta cheese.
- Step 9 Add pasta and stir to combine. adding pasta water if needed. Top with basil and enjoy!
