This Chili Green Beans recipe makes a quick and healthy side dish with a hint of spice and sweetness from the onions. Only 1 WW smartpoint and 70 calories per serving.
This recipe isn’t very spicy. However if you want to add some heat you can chop one or more of the chilis. I cooked the chilis whole without cutting to just add flavor and it is VERY flavorful. Also added chili powder, you can add more or less if desired.
Chili Green beans will also make a great Thanksgiving side dish!

Ingredients
- 1 lb fresh green beans, washed and snipped at the ends
- 2 tsp canola oil
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, finely chopped
- 2-3 Bird’s Eye chili pepper
- 1 tsp Kosher Salt

- 1/2 tsp Chili Powder
- 1/3 cup water

Chili Green Beans
Easy Chili Green Beans that's flavorful. Low Cal and low smartpoints.
Ingredients
- 1 LB fresh green beans, washed and ends snipped
- 2 tsp canola oil
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, finely chopped
- 2-3 Bird's Eye chili pepper
- 1 tsp kosher salt
- 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
- 1/2 tsp chili powder
- 1/3 cup water
Directions
- Step 1 Wash and dry green beans
- Step 2 In a large non-stick skillet, heat oil on medium low heat. Add onions and chili pepper. Stir around.
- Step 3 Add green beans and garlic. Stir.
- Step 4 Add salt, black pepper and chili powder. Allow to stir-fry while turning frequently. About 3-5 minutes.
- Step 5 Add water and cover. Cook until water evaporates. Remove lid and stir around.
- Step 6 Serve warm.
